Food Review: Cafe Swiss 1-for-1 Lunch Buffet (Fairmont Hotel, City Hall)
The signature Swiss cow |
We had an appointment this morning and didn't want to wait till 3.30pm for a hi-tea buffet that we actually made reservations for, so we decided to just head to City Hall for lunch. Plan A was to try the Wooloomooloo set lunch and Plan B was Nam Nam.
Alas, another plan was waiting for us! After we realised that there was no set lunch on weekends at Wooloomooloo, we noticed a long queue at Swiss Cafe. The typical Singaporean in me wondered - what was the good deal? It was 12.30pm, and we guessed that it was the start of the lunch buffet.
Indeed, on closer look at the pricing, we realised that there was a 1-for-1 lunch buffet with OCBC cards! At $48++, it was just $27 per person. So worth it. Nowadays, just 2 plates of spaghetti and a dessert for 2 persons in town would easily sum up to that price too.
I will let the rest of the photos do the talking. Enjoy! :)
Mains
Fresh prawns. Everyone rushed for these and smoked salmon. |
Fresh tomatos with various selections of salads and toppings. |
Ham carving. |
Desserts - What is a buffet without desserts? :)
Chocolate fondue with marshmellows and strawberries. This was a popular section for kids. |
Overall
With everything from salads to sushi, smoked salmon, grilled fish, beef rendang, laksa, fondue with strawberries and juices, this is a really good deal. It was a pleasant afternoon for just chilling around and reading newspaper over lunch.
